Sweden's MilDef has secured its largest hardware order to date, winning a contract worth approximately 553 MSEK to supply IT equipment for the armed forces of an unnamed European Nato country.

The order marks a significant step in the company's long-term collaboration with the customer and reflects continued investment in military digitalisation across Europe, it announced in a press release.

The order is placed under a 20-year framework agreement signed in 2022 and covers hardware for the digitisation of the country's army. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2027. According to MilDef, the equipment will be deployed across several military vehicle platforms, supporting communications, information management and systems integration.

MilDef, headquartered in Helsingborg, Sweden, develops rugged IT solutions, systems integration and software for defence applications. The company has previously supplied the same customer with hardware, services and its OneCIS software platform, indicating that the latest order expands an existing relationship rather than establishing a new one.

Rugged computing systems are designed to withstand harsh operational conditions while enabling reliable data exchange and command functions in the field.

According to MilDef, the order illustrates increasing demand for larger hardware deliveries as defence organisations expand their capabilities.

- The order from the government agency is an example of how MilDef is now beginning to scale up its hardware deliveries as defense organizations build capabilities, says Daniel Ljunggren, President and CEO of MilDef, in the press release.

The company has not disclosed the identity of the customer or further technical details of the delivery.
